Each of our programs in the “Tambopata” Reserve begin in the city of “Puerto Maldonado”. Commercial flights from “Lima”, “Juliaca”, or “Cusco” can take you to Puerto Maldonado. The flying time is around one hour. If you prefer a more cheap mode of transportation, busses from Cusco are also an option. These depart at night, beginning at 8 p.m., and last around 10 hours. 01

When you arrive at Puerto Maldonado Airport, Peru’s Biodiversity Capital, our guide will greet you. Once you’ve boarded the cab or minibus, we’ll head to the “Monte Amazonico Lodge Office.”
Once reaching the Monte Amazonico Lodge office, you may take part in the tour explanation sessions. Once you have completed the explanation sessions,. Our boart service will transport you to your lodging, and once there, the lodge team will offer you with Peruvian natural fruit juice. You can sneak your welcome juice while enjoying the surroundings of the lodge .

After settling into the lodge, you can enjoy the Peruvian local lunch dish. Following the delicious lunch, we will visit “Monkey Island,” located in front of our lodge across the “Madre de Dios River,” where there are different species of monkeys such as brown capuchin, “squirrel monkey,” “saddle back tamarin,” and “white capuchin.” After the activity, we will return to the lodge.

We go looking for “caiman” at night, and they are usually found along the banks of the “Madre de Dios River.” This time, we will need to carry a flashlight. If we are lucky, we may witness the “capybara,” the world’s largest rodent that may weigh 60 kilograms, as well as the stunning “Peruvian cuy” family; return to the lodge for supper and the night.

Note – Capybaras are not considered threatened species; their population is steady over the most of their South American habitat, however hunting has reduced their numbers in some locations.

02

Starting with day 2, the lodge crewe will serve coca tea or coffee, and after the coffee, you may have the breakfast while enjoying the Peruvian wildlife early scenery and sunrise.
Following a hearty breakfast, we will take a short boat ride to the entry of Lake Sandoval. After checking in at the checkpoint, we will walk 3 kilometers (2 miles) to Lake Sandoval (piranha habitat), one of the largest in the Tambopata National Reserve. After a pleasant walk, the guide will get a rowing boat and we will have our navigation on the lake to appreciate many different bird and monkey species (Hoatzin cormorant Jacanas, puma heron, eagles, howler monkey, Maybe we are going to interact with the family of enormous river otters (almost two meters long), which are in danger of extinction, and the largest alligator documented over four meters long.

We’ll returning to the resort about noon for a typical lunch.

Following a delicious lunch, we will stroll through the canopy stroll-Way to see the rainforest from a different viewpoint. The bridges, which are about 30 meters high, offer a panoramic view of the “Rio Madre de Dios”. Platforms allow you to watch various bird species such as toucans and macaws.
At the late afternoon, we will have a night stroll to see the variety of insects, amphibians, reptiles, and other nocturnal species.

Following this brief stroll, we will return to the lodge for dinner, and you will be prepared to sleep while recalling your Peruvian wildlife adventure.

03

After an early and tasty breakfast, we begin our jungle stroll. The canopy walkway will allow us to observe the rainforest from a fresh perspective. The bridges, which are roughly 30 meters high, will allow us to appreciate nature from a higher altitude while also providing a panoramic perspective of the Rio Madre de Dios. You may see several bird species from platforms, including toucans, macaws, tanagers, orioles, and more. This will be a fantastic experience. After breakfast, we prepare for an adrenaline-pumping exercise on trees that are over 30 meters tall.
We will do the zip-line, and there will be an instructor guide who will give a talk about how to use the safety harness during the zip-line activity. Feeling the rush of gliding through the trees, the experience will last a lifetime, and there are two cables that can support more than three tons, back to the Lodge.- Lunch and relaxation.
The afternoon objective is to kayak across the Madre de Dios River, taking in the breathtaking sunset along the way. Then we may go artisanal fishing in the Madre de Dios River; with a little patience, we can observe certain fish species like catfish.

Early with the final day, we will provide a delicious breakfast and then bring you to the airport or bus station.
