Cusco | Mollepata - Soraypaampa - Humantay Lagoon - Cusco.
4:30 AM – 5:00 AM: Hotel Pickup
Your adventure begins early in the morning with a pickup from your hotel in Cusco. The early start ensures you have enough time to enjoy the hike and return safely before nightfall.
5:00 AM – 7:30 AM: Drive to Mollepata
Enjoy a scenic drive through the Andean landscape to the town of Mollepata, where you will have breakfast at a local restaurant. This meal is crucial for fueling your hike.
7:30 AM – 8:30 AM: Breakfast in Mollepata
Feast on a hearty breakfast that includes fresh juice, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, fruit salad, and bread or pancakes with butter and jam. This will give you the energy needed for the challenging hike ahead.
8:30 AM – 9:30 AM: Drive to Soraypampa
After breakfast, continue your journey to Soraypampa, the starting point of the hike. Soraypampa is a small village situated at the base of Humantay Mountain.
9:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Hike to Humantay Lake
The hike begins with a gradual ascent through scenic landscapes. As you climb higher, you’ll witness stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The trail can be steep and rocky, so take your time and enjoy the journey.
11:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Arrival at Humantay Lake
Upon reaching Humantay Lake, you’ll be greeted by the mesmerizing sight of its turquoise waters. Take time to relax, take photos, and absorb the beauty of the lake and its surroundings. Your guide will provide insights into the lake’s significance and natural history.
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Descent to Soraypampa
After spending time at the lake, begin your descent back to Soraypampa. The downhill hike is easier but still requires careful footing.
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Lunch in Mollepata
Enjoy a well-deserved lunch in Mollepata, giving you time to rest and refuel before the return journey to Cusco.
3:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Return to Cusco
Relax and reflect on your adventure during the drive back to Cusco. You’ll arrive in the evening, with plenty of time to rest and enjoy a good meal.
