Today we’ll head to Rainbow Mountain to see breathtaking scenery while learning about the area. From there, you’ll descend to our lunch spot before boarding our private transportation to your Cusco accommodations.

Ausangate Trek 3 days FULL ITINERARY

Cusco | Upis - Arapa Pass - Hatun Pucacocha
The amazing adventure begins today at 5:00 a.m. We will pick you up from your accommodation and take you in our private vehicle for three hours to the beginning site of our adventure in the little the village of “Upis”. There, you’ll have the first breakfast made by our brilliant chef while marveling at the breathtaking scenery. That meal will provide you with all of the necessary nutrients and energy to go trekking.
Following a brief period of time, we’ll be on our way, and the adventure will begin. Over the course of three hours, we will progressively rise to the location where we will eat lunch. During this section of the voyage, we’ll be able to see the spectacular “Ausangate Mountain” in the distance, therefore keep your camera ready. Our staff will be ready for you at our first stop with a hot coca tea before you have a great meal. You’ll have time to take a quick break and refuel before starting the day’s trek up.
Following lunchtime we will begin a two-hour upward trek to the “Arapa Pass” (4,800 m). Then we’ll descend for three and a half hours to Hatun’s “Pucacocha lake,” where our campsite is located. We will also admire “Yanacocha Lake” along the trip. You will be at the foot of the majestic Ausangate Mountain! You will be astounded by the magnitude of this snowy mountain.
Once you arrive at the camp, you may have some hot chocolate or coffee before supper arrives. It will then be time to go to your bed for some much-needed slumber.

Hatun Pucacocha | Puca Pass - Anantapata - Warmisaya Pass - Surinecocha
Today, you may wake up to a hot cup of coca leaf tea, which will help you acclimate and start the day off well.While you enjoy your surroundings in the morning, our chefs will make breakfast, and we are going to consume a wonderful and healthy meal to aid us on our trek.
Our trek will begin with a two-hour uphill ascent to the Puka Pass (4,870 m). You will also see the splendor of various glacial lagoons, including “Huchuy Pucacocha” and “Hatun Pucacocha”. Make sure to take some great images of these lovely locations.
Later, we’ll descend for an hour and a half to Anantapata, our lunch site, for another great meal, before ascending for two hours to the Warmisaya Pass (4,985 meters). From here, you can see Ausangate’s sacred mountain, Rainbow Mountain, and the vast Vilcanota mountain range.
Following that, we’ll trek for an hour to Surinecocha (4,800 m ), where our camp is located. Once we arrive, you will be welcomed with a nice drink to keep you warm. You’ll have a delicious meal made by our chef before resting for the night. You’ll be delighted at the delights they cook so high in the mountains!

Surinecocha | Rainbow Mountain - Llacto - Cusco
Today You’re in for another early start as our trek approaches its peak. Following an invigorating breakfast, we’ll set off to visit the famed “Vinicunca” or “Rainbow Mountain.” We’ll begin rising for two hours to the pass at 5,100 m. From here, you may enjoy a stunning view of Rainbow Mountain.
Our guide will explain what makes these mountains so distinctive. Its spectacular color show is the result of sedimentary layers of minerals revealed by erosion.
After taking in the strange environment, we’ll stroll for an hour to Llacto, where we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch. We’ll wrap off our day and epic trip with a 3-hour drive in our private transportation to your Cusco accommodations.
