Cusco - Ollantaytambo– Aguas calientes

Your fantastic two-day trip to Machu Picchu starts today. Early in the morning, we will arrive to pick you from accommodation and take you to the Ollantaytambo train station. There’s no urgency; the first train to Aguas Calientes departs at around 8.25 a.m. During the whole ride, you may admire the trail.

As you travel through the rainforest on this train excursion, you may stretch your legs and enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

After an incredible 4-hour train trip, our guide will meet you when you arrive in Aguas Calientes. From there, you may stroll with your guide to your lodging.

You’ll have lunch at the nearby Aguas Calientes restaurant at 1:30 p.m. There are two options you may do after eating lunch at the restaurant.

One is to stroll through and shop in the town of Aguas Calientes.

The second option is to trek the Aguas Calientes hot springs with a guide.

You might savor a delectable meal at a neighboring restaurant in the evening. Our guide will set up a briefing after dinner to begin the next day’s Machu Picchu tour. You can sleep after this briefing to conserve energy for the next day.

Cusco - Ollantaytambo– Aguas calientes

Day 2 begins with the sound of birds chirping outside your lodging. Our goal is to arrive at Machu Picchu as the first group. After a filling breakfast, we depart the lodging at 5:30 in the morning in order to take the bus to the Historic Machu Picchu. You may witness the sun rise above the Inca jungles and behind the mountains during this 25-minute bus trip.

Once you reach Puente Ruinas is the first checkpoint, where you must submit your Machu Picchu tickets and original passports to obtain admission. After passing the “Puente Ruinas” checkpoint, you will begin an upward journey to MachuPicchu. This ascent usually takes between 25 to 30 minutes by bus. When you arrive at Machu Picchu’s main gate, you’ll meet your group and guide to enter the site and begin your incredible tour through this historic Inca fortress.

MACHU PICCHU GUIDED TOUR:

Our itinerary includes a Machu Picchu ticket, with the major circuit options being Circuit 2-A: Ruta diseñada.

Just in case. If the first choice is not available, we will include circuits Ruta 2-B: Ruta terraza inferior or Ruta 3-B: Ruta diseñada. Ticket availability is dependent on the time of booking, therefore if you prefer Circuit 2-A: Ruta diseñada, we recommend reserving well in advance.

For additional information on the various circuits and ticket details, please visit our website or contact us personally. Upon arriving at Machu Picchu, our knowledgeable tour guide will conduct you on a 2.5-hour guided tour of the Inca city, following the route stated in your ticket. The guide will provide information about the history and significance of Machu Picchu while giving time for photography and admiring the beautiful vistas. During the whole Machu Picchu trip, you will see the most renowned spots on the site.

Following the guided tour, you can trek to ‘Huayna Picchu” if you already booked your ticket in advance (not included in the tour) In the afternoon, you will return to “Aguas Calientes” City. At city “Aguas Calientes”, you can find a restaurant to have lunch, explore “Aguas Calientes” City, or shop around before heading to the train station. 

InAguas Calientes”, you will board a train to “Ollanyaytambo”, then travel to Cusco in our private transport from the “Ollanyaytambo” train station. In the evening, we will drop you off at the door of your accommodation in “Cusco”.
