CODE OF CONDUCT AGAINST THE SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS

By virtue of Law Nº 28251, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) has established a policy against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (ESNNA). Therefore, the ESNNA code and Sap Adventures have signed an agreement for joint actions to prevent and eradicate this problem. Accordingly, we declare that:

We reject the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESNNA) in Peru and worldwide, particularly in its form associated with travel and tourism, as it is a conduct that violates the fundamental rights of individuals and is contrary to the intrinsic objectives of tourism activities in our country.

We denounce and condemn those who use tourism activities, facilities, and services to promote, facilitate, or tolerate the occurrence of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents. In view of the above, Sap Adventures adheres to this Code of Conduct against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents within the tourism sector.

This Code is a formal declaration of free adherence and aims to establish rules of conduct for all personnel working at Sap Adventures, directed at protecting children and adolescents from any form of sexual exploitation and human trafficking associated with travel and tourism.

Furthermore, the members of this company, in order to take the necessary measures to protect children and adolescents from sexual exploitation, commit to:

  • Maintaining an ethical policy of rejecting the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in the context of travel and tourism.

  • Informing and training our staff regarding the company’s policy on preventing the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in tourism and travel.

  • Displaying visible symbols that alert clients and providers of our stance against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in tourism and travel.

  • Including a clause in contracts with tourism service providers stating our shared rejection of the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.

The following paragraph will be used:

“Tourism promotes childhood and adolescence free from sexual exploitation; therefore, we do not accept any act that favors the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.”
