Embark on this 4-day adventure with a convenient pickup from your accommodation in Cusco at around 6 a.m. As we drive through the stunning Sacred Valley of the Incas.
You’ll have the chance to marvel at the picturesque towns nestled amidst the “Vilcabamba” and “Vilcanota” mountain ranges.
as well as explore the native town of “Chinchero.” After a 2-hour drive we’ll take a break at the historic Inca village of “Ollantaytambo,”. …where you can stretch your legs and take a breather. You may also opt to have breakfast at a traditional Peruvian restaurant in “Ollantaytambo.”

Day 2: Santa Teresa – Ziplining – Hidroelectrica – Aguas Calientes
Starting with day two, Rise and shine at 6:00 with a coffee cup provided by “ECO TERRA LODGE.” In “Santa Maria ”, have breakfast and prepare for an action-packed day.
Around 6:30, SAP we provide private transport around 1h from “ECO TERRA LODGE.” To zipline base. After a brief instruction, embark on an exciting 2-hour adventure featuring four unique ziplines and a suspension bridge.
After you’ve gotten your fill of ziplining adventure, take a 1-hour drive to “Hidroelectrica” for lunch. After delicious lunch, take a picturesque three-hour hike along the railroad tracks to “Aguas Calientes” town.
At 19:00, have a fantastic meal at a local restaurant at “Aguas Calientes” town. before returning to the hotel for a restful night’s sleep. Get up early the next day, anxious to tour the majestic Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu – Cusco
Arriving at Machu Picchu’s Main Gate from Aguas Calientes:
You have two options for getting from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu’s main gate.
You have the choice of embarking on a stunning 1.5-hour trek. or opting for a convenient bus excursion, costing approximately $12 for a one-way ticket. The decision is entirely yours, and you can even make it on the day of your Machu Picchu visit. Regardless of which option you choose, your day will commence at 4 a.m. with a hearty breakfast at your hotel in Aguas Calientes.
If you woild like to walk from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, your adventure will begin about 4:30 a.m. Begin by walking from your accommodation in “Aguas Calientes” to “Puente Ruinas,” which takes around 30 minutes.
Puente Ruinas is the first checkpoint where you must submit your Machu Picchu tickets. and original passports to obtain admission. After passing the “Puente Ruinas” checkpoint, you will begin an upward journey to MachuPicchu, with roughly 1,700 steps.
This ascent usually takes between one hour and one hour and twenty minutes. When you arrive at Machu Picchu’s main gate. you’ll meet your group and guide to enter the site and begin your incredible tour through this historic Inca fortress.

Book your Huayna Picchu hike in advance because it sells out fast and costs $60 per person. your guide will take you to the starting point. The trek will take no more than 2 hours, including the round trip duration.
If you’re thinking about hiking in the mountains, we suggest taking the train back to Cusco so you have more time to explore. If you prefer to come back to cusco by car, we suggest staying another night in Aguas Calientes. and departing on the fourth day from the hydroelectric station. This will allow you plenty of time to enjoy the grandeur of the highlands and make the most of your trip.
Option 1: Returning to Cusco via Train
Taking the train back to Cusco offers a lovely route and extra time to visit Machu Picchu. Especially if you intend to tackle Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, which might take many hours.
Be at the Aguas Calientes train station by 4:22 PM to board the train, which will arrive in Cusco at 8:30 PM. Alternatively, catch the later train at 6:20 PM, which arrives in Ollantaytambo in 1 hour and 45 minutes. From there, you’ll take a 2-hour vehicle travel to Cusco, arriving about 10:30 p.m.
Option 2: Return to Cusco by Car
Returning to Cusco by car is a more cost-effective alternative, but it leaves less time to see Machu Picchu. Trekking Huaynapicchu or Machu Picchu Mountain might limit your time.
To take this route, leave Machu Picchu around midday, hike for three hours to Hidroelectrica. and catch the vehicle by 2:30 PM. It is best to stay an extra night in Aguas Calientes. and drive back to Cusco on the fifth day for a better experience.

Do the tour guides speak English?
Our guides are all Cusco locals who speak good Spanish and English. Many of them speak Quechua, Peru’s native language. With degrees in tourism and at least two years of experience, they are full of enthusiasm, knowledge of the natural flora and wildlife, and Inca monuments, as well as a wealth of Andean stories and legends.
How many people are there per group?
The size of your group depends on the day’s activity. The maximum size of our group service is fourteen people, and the minimum is two to three people. For groups of over eight people, we also employ an assistant guide to help out (the assistant guide is a fully qualified guide but may lack some of the experience of the main guide or still need to improve his/her English skills.)
Is the Inca Jungle Trek difficult? Do I have to be fit?
Yes, you must be moderately fit and exercise frequently to complete this trek! Your first day will be spent biking downhill on the road, while the second day will be spent walking several kilometers through “Andean flat” terrain. In the months preceding the trek, try walking ten kilometers per day or joining a fitness club. It is also critical to be well acclimated to the altitude. Try to spend at least three or four days in Cusco (3350m/11,047ft) before beginning the Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu.
Renew or change your passport number?
If you intend to renew or change your name on your passport between booking your trek and beginning your trek, you may book your trek or tour using your current passport number or name, but you must send us a copy of your old passport and a copy of your new passport as soon as you have them. We can then make the necessary changes with the government before your arrival. The additional cost to make the change is $25 per person. (This will cover any changes to the number or name on your Inca Trail Permit, Machu Picchu Entrance, or train.)
If you do not notify us of the change or do not wish to pay the fee, please bring both original passports (old and new). You can enter Peru with your new passport, but you must show your old passport to the government in order to visit the Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, or take the train. If you are unable to do so, government officials will deny you permission to begin your trek. Every name and number must match!!
Return train at the end of the Inca Jungle Trek:
The Expedition train departs for Cusco at either 7:00 or 8:20 p.m. We can also book an earlier train (2:55 pm, 4:35 pm, or 6:20 pm) for you at an additional cost of $25. The train we will book is dependent on availability and will be confirmed during your briefing. There is also an option to upgrade to the Vistadome train for an additional US $65 per person. Please let us know your preference when booking the tour. Unfortunately, none of the trains go directly to Cusco; instead, they travel to Ollantaytambo or Poroy. In either case, we will transport you back to your Cusco hotel via bus.
Can I change my return train ticket?
If you do not want to take the train you had originally booked, you may still be able to change your return train ticket. You must take your train ticket to the Aguas Calientes train station and request that the return ticket be changed to an early one. You will probably be asked to pay an additional administration fee, which will vary depending on the train service and departure time. Changing the ticket is subject to the availability of seats on the train.
What about the toilets?
All of the hostels have clean and private bathrooms. However, bathrooms along the trail are limited and may require a fee (usually 1 sol) to use them. If you need to use the restroom between sites, please do so away from the trail and water sources; you can dig a hole or cover your feces with a rock, and then take the paper with you in a bag to deposit in one of the several bins along the way.
Are river rafting and ziplining included in this tour?
Ziplining is offered as an optional activity on this tour. It is included in the price of your trek and costs an additional US $30 per person. River rafting is not available during the three-day Inca Jungle Trek.
How many people will share a room at the hostels?
The hostels offer three types of rooms: matrimonial (one double or queen size bed), double (two beds), and triple (three beds). If you travel alone, you will only share a room with other people of the same gender. A private room can be made available for an additional fee. Each room includes a private bathroom.
Do we need to carry our backpacks while riding bikes?
No, you can place your daypacks in the support vehicle, which will follow us down the road. However, you will not be able to access the packs while riding. As a result, if you have an extremely small or light backpack that will not interfere with your riding ability, you may want to use it to store sunscreen, water, or other necessities. (There are water bottle holders on the bikes).
How long will we be riding bicycles?
The first day’s bike ride will take about three hours and cover approximately 55 kilometers.
What about altitude sickness during the Inca Jungle Trek?
To avoid altitude sickness during the trek, we recommend spending time in Cusco or the Sacred Valley beforehand. If you’ve never been to high altitude before, we recommend starting with a day in the Sacred Valley, which is lower altitude than Cusco city.
Does my Inca Jungle Trek need to be scheduled?
Beginning on July 1st, 2017, visitors can enter Machu Picchu between the hours of 06:00 and 12:00 or 12:30 and 17:30. Because of this restriction, we strongly advise that you reserve your tour well in advance, particularly if you want to travel from May to September, when traveler demand is at its highest. Tickets for the Machu Picchu entrance and the train are frequently sold-out weeks or months in advance.
Is an oxygen bottle available during the trek, just in case?
Yes, all of our tour guides carry an oxygen bottle with them on the trail and will provide oxygen as necessary.
Is the Machu Picchu entrance ticket included in the price?
Yes, the tour package includes entrance to Machu Picchu. However, if you want to add any extra activities, such as climbing Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, it will cost an additional $20 per person; however, please keep in mind that the $20 is only valid before we book your entrance fees. If you want to add this extra climb after we’ve booked the ticket, it will cost you $65 per person.
Is drinking water included in the price?
We will provide you with tea, coffee, and other beverages during mealtimes. During the trek, you may need to buy water directly from the locals, which is possible every two hours. Remember that the price of water will be higher than in the city.
